The FOP Kids and Cops Program is designed to build relationships between local law enforcement officers and the community. Police Officers taking kids shopping for Christmas presents or school supplies shows those children that the police from their communities are friends and are always there to help. Giving a child a present, when they wouldn't have received one, or the supplies they need to excel in school, can make a lasting impression.

Our FOP lodge raises funds for this program by selling raffle tickets and seeking donations from the community and local businesses.  This tax deductible donation goes directly to the kids involved in this program.   Each kid was able to spend $125.00.  After picking out a coat and boots, they could spend the remaining money on toys.  This is a great opportunity for the officers and kids to do something positive together.

Meijer Store in Rossford has been our host store the past few years.  Their continued support has allowed this program to continue to grow and be an important part of many families during the holidays.

Cops and Kids 2016 Update

Cops and Kids was held on 12/3/2016.  Meijer again hosted this shopping event.

In 2016, we had 76 police officers involved, who took 127 local kids shopping.  The success of this program is the result of the great support we got from the community.  It is more than shopping, it is about building positive relationships between the kids and the police officers.
